Arguing over facts in traffic court:

I just came back from traffic court.  There were so many people pleading not guilty to facts which they readily admit to, it was extremely annoying and a waste of time.

Basically if an officer writes you a ticket for speeding, and clocks you using a laser, there is nothing you can do, all you are going to do is pay the fine, waste the judge’s time and your time.  You can’t argue that you violated the law, but you had a reason for violating the law because you wanted to get home.

It doesn’t work that way.  There are so many laws out there, laws passed by the citizen’s elected officials, that there is no excuse when you violate these laws, you are guilty.  There is no reason to plead not guilty.

There were so many people pleading not guilty to driving on suspended license, expired tags, etc.  Basically if you say you didn’t know, you still violated the law.  It sucks, but you are going to get a ticket.  So do everyone a favor and just pay the thing and save yourself some time.
