May 6, 2008:

Today we started the day with about 8 calls pending.  My vehicle was almost out of gas so I had to drive down to the pumps and fillup.  On the way at about 6:30 am there I saw a Ford F-150 wizzing in and out of traffic trying to get somewhere fast, so I pulled him over.  He didn’t have a driver’s license on him, and he said he’s gotten 4 tickets for it already.  He also had a silver .38 special sitting in the cup holder in the center consol of his truck.  He was also acting nervous, and anxious.  I wrote him 2 tickets and sent him on his way.  He said “I’ll make this back shortly tonight, that why I do what I do”.  He also suggested that I drive a mercedes “I know how you cops be”. I said, “yeah, I can’t afford $40,000 trucks like you”.  My vehicle had a note saying that the gas key didn’t work.  So I had to run down a manager with a master key so I could get gas.  My first call was a stolen motor vehicle call.  I showed up and this guy had 2 dodge chryslers in his driveway.  Someone had broke into the one in the back, but it had “the club on it”.  So they just threw it in reverse and smashed into a tree across the street, they left that one there just to move it out of the way.  Then they stole the one in front of that one.  2 houses down was a stolen dodge minivan that probably the same purps left in some guys driveway.  So I towed that one and wrote 3 reports up.  My next call was a lady with a black eye that said her boyfriend punched her because she wouldn’t sleep with him.  I wrote her a report.  Next I had an alarm call, I showed up and the house looked fine, but I noticed what looked like a bullet hole in the downstairs door window.  Then I noticed a gas grill had been moved out of the way on one of the windows, a pane was broken, and the window was unlocked.  I called for another unit, we searched the house, and found nobody had gained entry.  I wrote her a report.  My next call was a kid that had been beat up by his dad who was “mentally ill”.  Apparently this guy grabbed the cell phone from the kid (20 yr old kid), and threw him about 7 feet through the air and the kid smashed his head open on some concrete steps.  Then grandma tried to get involved and he swung on her.  He was gone, I wrote a report and I will take out a warrant for him tomorrow on my day off, I didn’t have time today.  Next I had a call where some lady was yelling at another lady when I pulled up with the full body and arm gestures to know it was getting serious.  She said the other ladies son had punched her in the face, because she cussed him out.  She also owed his friend $4.00.  I wrote her a report and told her to go home.
